武漢紡織大學(xué)藝術(shù)與設(shè)計(jì)學(xué)院的設(shè)計(jì)學(xué)的辦學(xué)歷史始于20世紀(jì)80年代初,是華中地區(qū)最早創(chuàng)辦藝術(shù)設(shè)計(jì)專業(yè)的院系之一。
我院經(jīng)過三十多年的辦學(xué)歷史，已逐漸建構(gòu)了一套屬于自己的教育觀念，辦學(xué)特色和教學(xué)體系，擁有一支具有敬業(yè)精神和創(chuàng)新精神的“雙師型”教師隊(duì)伍，在全國建立起良好的辦學(xué)聲譽(yù)和品牌形象。藝術(shù)與設(shè)計(jì)學(xué)院現(xiàn)設(shè)置有設(shè)計(jì)學(xué)二級學(xué)科五個(gè)專業(yè)：視覺傳達(dá)設(shè)計(jì)、環(huán)境設(shè)計(jì)、產(chǎn)品設(shè)計(jì)、工藝美術(shù)、公共藝術(shù)。其中藝術(shù)設(shè)計(jì)專業(yè)為國家特色專業(yè)，設(shè)計(jì)學(xué)為湖北省重點(diǎn)學(xué)科，湖北省優(yōu)勢特色學(xué)科群。
藝術(shù)設(shè)計(jì)學(xué)院以當(dāng)代藝術(shù)與設(shè)計(jì)思維為主導(dǎo)，以中國傳統(tǒng)文化精神為根基，重視學(xué)科厚基礎(chǔ)，重視學(xué)科交叉，注重八個(gè)結(jié)合：即設(shè)計(jì)教育與藝術(shù)結(jié)合，設(shè)計(jì)教育與創(chuàng)新思維結(jié)合，設(shè)計(jì)教育與中國人文精神結(jié)合，設(shè)計(jì)教育與學(xué)科厚基礎(chǔ)結(jié)合，設(shè)計(jì)教育與非智力因素結(jié)合，設(shè)計(jì)教育與科技結(jié)合，設(shè)計(jì)教育與動(dòng)手能力、實(shí)踐能力結(jié)合，設(shè)計(jì)教育與創(chuàng)新能力結(jié)合。努力構(gòu)建思維能力+動(dòng)手能力+實(shí)踐能力+創(chuàng)新能力的綜合性人才培養(yǎng)特色。
近年來我院在創(chuàng)作研究和教學(xué)研究方面取得了矚目的成績，教研項(xiàng)目《創(chuàng)意產(chǎn)業(yè)下的藝術(shù)設(shè)計(jì)教育教學(xué)改革和實(shí)踐研究》2008年獲湖北省教學(xué)成果一等獎(jiǎng)，《“創(chuàng)意型、創(chuàng)制型”設(shè)計(jì)人才培養(yǎng)平臺(tái)的建設(shè)與實(shí)踐》2012年獲湖北省教學(xué)成果二等獎(jiǎng)。環(huán)藝設(shè)計(jì)作品獲全國美展優(yōu)秀獎(jiǎng)，學(xué)院現(xiàn)有在研國家級項(xiàng)目7項(xiàng)，其中國家社科基金2項(xiàng)，國家藝術(shù)基金1項(xiàng)，文化部藝術(shù)研究項(xiàng)目1項(xiàng)，教育部人文社科研究項(xiàng)目3項(xiàng)，出版專著和教材20余本。
學(xué)院現(xiàn)有教職工64人，其中教授5人，副教授31人，碩士研究生導(dǎo)師23人。湖北省楚天學(xué)者特聘教授5人，楚天學(xué)子1人，外聘國內(nèi)外著名教授“特聘教授”2人。在校碩士研究生近200人，學(xué)院一直高度重視學(xué)術(shù)研究氛圍的營造，近年來積極開展各類大型研創(chuàng)學(xué)術(shù)活動(dòng)，近5年來相繼舉辦了美國加州大學(xué)戴維斯分校纖維藝術(shù)聯(lián)展、中美設(shè)計(jì)作品交流展等一系列高層次的國際國內(nèi)重大學(xué)術(shù)展覽和學(xué)術(shù)交流活動(dòng)。為藝術(shù)設(shè)計(jì)教育與產(chǎn)業(yè)挖掘創(chuàng)新設(shè)計(jì)人才。促進(jìn)了高校與行業(yè)對話，為中國設(shè)計(jì)搭建了一個(gè)高水平的國際化的交流平臺(tái)。近年來還積極參與系列學(xué)術(shù)展演。此外學(xué)院還相繼組織策劃了學(xué)術(shù)研討會(huì)，如全國環(huán)藝設(shè)計(jì)學(xué)年獎(jiǎng)?wù)搲⒅许n時(shí)尚產(chǎn)業(yè)國際研討會(huì)。有力地推動(dòng)了學(xué)校學(xué)術(shù)研究的深度和廣度，提升了學(xué)校在中南地區(qū)及全國的影響力。
學(xué)院現(xiàn)有設(shè)計(jì)學(xué)碩士、藝術(shù)設(shè)計(jì)碩士學(xué)位授予權(quán)，面向全國招生。
Wuhan Textile University has one of the earliest design schools in Hubei province. After 20 years, the School of Art and Design has gradually established a set of its own educational concepts, school characteristics and teaching system. It has a high spirit of dedication and creative spirit which combines the advantages of "college teachers and corporate mentors" . It has established a good reputation and brand image in the whole country. The school of art and design provides two kinds of graduate programs and six professional directions of bachelor degrees: fiber art design, communication design, environmental design, public art design, art investment and appreciation, and product design. Art design is a national specialty major, and the key subject and the characteristic discipline groups of Hubei province.
The school of Art and Design focuses on the contemporary art and design thinking, takes the traditional culture as the root, and pays attention to the eight combinations: the combination of design education and art, creative thinking, Chinese humanistic spirit, the basic knowledge, non intelligence factors, technology, the ability of practice, and innovation ability. We try to construct the comprehensive educational system which included building the capabilities of thinking, practice, and innovation.
In recent years, our school has made great achievements in research and teaching. "The Teaching Reform and Practice of Artistic Design in the Creative Industry" had won the first prize of teaching achievement award in Hubei province in 2008. "The Construct and Practice of Creative Design Talents Training Platform" had won the second prize of teaching achievement award in Hubei province in 2012. It has seven national projects, which included two national social science funds, a national art fund, an art fund of Ministry of culture, and three humanities and social science research funds of the educational ministry. There are more than 20 books and textbooks published by our faculties.
There are more than 64 faculty members, including 5 professors, 31 associate professors, and 23 graduate supervisors. It has 6 Chutian scholars, 2 "distinguished professors". There are nearly 200 graduate students on campus. The school had pay more attention to create academic atmosphere and actively carried out all kinds of academic researches and exhibitions in recent five years, such as the fiber art exhibition in the University of California at Davis and design exchange exhibition between China and U.S. .In order to build a high exchange platform, the school had also participated in a series of academic activities, for example, the national environmental design forum, the fashion industry in China and South Korean. It had promoted the influence of our school in the central and southern regions and the whole country.
